Looking Glass housing programs rapidly connect families and individuals experiencing homelessness to permanent housing through a tailored package of assistance that includes the use of time-limited financial assistance and targeted supportive services. Housing programs are an important response to homelessness as they help those living on the streets or in emergency shelters solve the practical and immediate challenges to obtaining permanent housing and linking to community resources that enable them to achieve housing stability in the long-term. These programs are made possible thanks to Looking Glass' partnership with the Human Services Commission, City of Eugene, City of Springfield, and Lane County.
Over the last year, Looking Glass has been able to help secure housing for over 50 youth right here in Lane County. Partnerships with landlords are a critical component to the success of our housing programs, and we are always looking for individuals and agencies who share our values and seek to help us “build a better future for youth, adults, and families”.
Transitional Living Program
Transitional Housing is designed to provide youth experiencing homelessness with the interim stability and support to successfully move to and maintain permanent housing. Looking Glass provides financial assistance with application and move-in costs while providing ongoing case management and skill building services designed to help youth navigate the challenges of living independently.
Rapid Rehousing
Our Rapid Rehousing programs are designed for youth who are experiencing homelessness and have no safe alternative places to stay. Case managers help youth identify and apply for housing with the agency covering application costs. Once housed, case managers actively work with youth for the duration of their participation in the program. Primary goals of Rapid Housing are to help youth become financially independent and permanently housed.
